As a designer in training it’s often most challenging when we’re not given a brief but instead told to find something that channels our creativity independently. Finding ourselves something worth a major project. I struggle most without direction and a set goal, as such I knew that for my major project I had to pick something that was going to capture my full attention.
As such I decided to combine my Graphic Design skills with my love for stories and writing. I hope to produce a series of covers for a book I have written the plot out for. Making three type based covers as well as three photographic or illustrated covers. I hope to also create posters as a means to compliment the works for the commercial industry – an element to show how to advertise and sell the works themselves to the public.
As an extra challenge I also hope to create a book trailer, an online trend used on Amazon for popular books as a means for advertisement. As most book trailers are type based I have decided to re-visit the idea to create a type based video with this in mind.
I hope to achieve my goals within the thirteen weeks left of my Uni degree and have works I am especially proud of to showcase at the UOW 2016 grad show!
